Connecting Cultures: from Managua to Davao City with Connectys

I traveled to Davao City, Philippines for working purposes back in 2021, but it turned into vacations, and I spent unforgettable moments with truly amazing people. During my stay, I even met fellow Latin Americans working abroad, guys from the Dominican Republic and Colombia, which made the experience even more meaningful.

The Pinnacle Hotel in Davao was just amazing. Fifteen days were not enough! I made new friends, enjoyed beautiful views that reminded me of Managua, and loved walking around streets full of small local shops and food mini trucks.

Through Connectys, I worked on a project for a nutrition company from the USA and Mexico and met some of the kindest people ever. The people in Davao were so warm and friendly — karaoke nights, laughs, and good times made me feel like I was part of their family.

Every day, I had lunch at Coffee Cat, right in front of the Connectys building. It became one of my favorite parts of the day, having breakfast before helping customers on the phone or during the training of our Spanish-speaking team.

One of the highlights of my trip was visiting the Pawikan Sanctuary in Maitum. Getting to release baby sea turtles into the ocean was fully emotional. Holding these tiny creatures and watching them make their way to the water made me appreciate how tough life is for them and why protecting these endangered turtles matters so much. The sanctuary itself is peaceful, and the staff is passionate about their work.

I just want to say thank you, Davao, for all the memories, smiles, and friendship. I hope I can come back one day. ¡GRACIAS! 🇳🇮❤️🇵🇭
